How to fix the pop ups notifications?

On your device, you will get regular notifications and pop-ups. Some of these pop-ups are app notifications whereas you can also get pop-ups for updates and upgrades. When you get the notification, you should go and check for the fix. But sometimes these pop-ups become very bothersome. While working, these pop-ups start coming up regularly. Users can also manage these notifications, according to their needs.

Notification settings on Windows 10 device

  1. Go to the Start button

Users can enable or disable the pop-ups and notifications on the device. After making the changes, you will get the notifications according to you.

Disabling antivirus notifications

Your antivirus also sends notifications for the update, virus detection, etc. When you get the pop-up from antivirus, you should immediately check for the reason. If your security program is showing an update notification then you should immediately update the setup. Until you update the program, the Malwarebytes popup won't go away. Go to the PC and inspect your internet connection. When stable, install the program update on the system. In case you are getting the error, check for the program files. You can get the update error when some files get corrupted. The user has to reinstall the antivirus setup on the device. When you are using a free antivirus setup; you will also get the upgrade notification. You will get this notification until you upgrade the program to a premium one. Users can also make changes to antivirus notifications.

  1. Open the system and click on the antivirus program from the desktop

  2. Antivirus dashboard will appear

  3. Tap on the Settings tab

  4. Select Application from the screen

  5. Tap on the Update button and disable the notification

Users can also change other notifications also from the tab. After restarting the device, you won’t receive antivirus-related notifications.

Disabling fake pop-ups on the web

Users can get fake notifications while using the web. Cybercriminals send these pop-ups to hack or phish the users. For phishing, they send popups like you won a lottery. For claiming the lottery, enter your details. When users provide the details, cybercriminals steal all the funds. Hackers send warning notifications such as devices under attack. If the user clicks on the warning message; malware enters the device. This malware can cause much damage to the device. Users should never click on any malicious pop-ups or ads on the website. But finding which ad is malicious is not easy. For this, you can use the ad blocker on the device. Using this extension will disable all the ads on the browser. But some users reported that using the extensions on the browser makes it heavy and the browser starts working slowly. For browser security, users can use the browser protection tool.

Browser protection is available as a tool as well as available as a feature on various antivirus programs. Users can use these security programs for preventing hacking threats. When the browser protection feature is enabled; it checks all the ads and links on the page. When a user clicks on a malicious link; your browser protection alerts the user and blocks the site. Using a security tool will help in preventing unwanted threats on the device.

Unable to fix pop-up issues on Windows 10

Some Windows users reported that they are getting notifications regarding errors. Even after disabling the pop-ups; they are still receiving them. Users can face this type of issue when some programs or files are restricting the changes on the system. When you face the error check for system files. When the system files are not working; they start interrupting other functions. You should check for those files and fix them. Never try to edit the system files manually without technical knowledge. Your whole device may break down. You can use the Windows file checker tool. It is an inbuilt Windows tool that can fix all corrupted system files. The user has to open the command screen and type sfc/scannow. Run the command and it will check for corrupted files. After repairing these files, restart the device. Again, go to the settings page and make changes to the notifications. Now run the device and check for notification regarding errors.
