How to Create a Website domain name?

Creating a website used to be a big project. And expensive.

Everything had to be built by hand and businesses had to work with an online marketing agency that charged them tens of thousands of dollars to build the site. If you wanted a professional-looking site, that was your only option.

Things have gotten much cheaper and easier over the years.

Note that there are a number of possible approaches to creating a website. We'll get to that later, but let's dive right in.

A Step-by-Step Guide to Building a Website with WordPress

I've broken down the 9 simple steps to creating your website from scratch.

Here they are:

Step 1: Choose a name and find a domain for your website.
Step 2: Register your domain name
Step 3: Decide on the type of website you will create
Step 4: Find a web host for your website
Step 5: Install WordPress
Step 6: Point your domain to your web host
Step 7: Installing a WordPress theme
Step 8: Adding content to your website
Step 9: Continue to grow your website
You can easily complete these steps in 120 minutes.

Step 1: Choose a name and find a domain for your website
It's time, to tell the truth: many good domain names are already taken.

Here's how a name picking session might go for you:

In a moment of inspiration, we think of an amazing name.
We hold onto that name for months, even years.
The time comes to launch the business, so we go out and buy the domain.
The domain is taken.
We try a dozen small variations of our original idea, all of which are taken.
No big deal, we thought of a brilliant name, we'll come up with another one.
Backup idea #2 = plug.
Backup idea #3 = plug.
Backup idea #4 = plug.
Desperation sets in.
We start considering names we don't really like, hoping that everything is available.
We come up with 2 or 3 options that we don't like at all.
Then we spend a week trying to find a name that is both available and acceptable.
Finally, we find one.
Websites are now an integral part of our daily lives. It's better to change the name of the business to match an available domain than to choose a poor-quality domain. Through this process, I almost always end up with a completely different name than the one I originally planned.

That's why ilmibook considers the "name my business" and "buy the domain" steps to creating a business to be the same thing.
