Harnessing the power of AI and big data: Modern solutions for modern problems
A recent report by BML Munjal University revealed several opportunities that Artificial Intelligence presents for the Indian healthcare sector. Around 70 per cent of the organisations that were surveyed stated that they are in the early stages of adoption of AI and other new-age technologies like big data analytics, cloud computing, IoT, 3D printing, etc.
While the survey pertains to the healthcare sector, the use of AI and new-age technologies for other sectors cannot be overstated as well. Harnessing their power, several sector-specific solutions have been designed that have, in turn, generated tremendous results.
For instance, two IIT Bombay students launched AIR Scanner, an AI-powered document scanning app last year. Their aim was to help people to be able to conveniently scan and organise documents through mobile phones – a key challenge that people have been increasingly facing since the ban of the China-owned CamScanner. Rohit Kumar Chaudhary, one of the app developers, said that AIR Scanner does not collect any information about the user and it guarantees complete security and privacy of users.
Through AI, AIR Scanner aims at solving the challenges related to document scanning. However, organisations like WGD Analytics seek to help businesses tackle their everyday problems. A data analytics organisation that primarily caters to the critical infrastructure sector, WGD Analytics helps companies ensure security within and across their work stations. In addition to this, it also helps them gain in-depth insights into their past and present data that would help them in their decision-making process.
All of these are done by harnessing the power of analytics. However, what makes WGD Analytics different from other analytics companies is that it analyses only the data provided by the clients.
As digitization grows in its sophistication, so do its challenges. Therefore, leveraging the limitless potential of big data and its associated technologies becomes the need of the hour. It is only by having them at our disposal that we can tackle these seemingly invincible problems.
