Write a summary of your thesis

There are plenty of instructions on how to develop a thesis title, plan your thesis, conduct research, and collect a literature review; There are even instructions on how to make sure your conclusion is strong enough. However, there is very limited printed guidance in these support books and textbooks on how best to approach this important summary.

What is the summary?

An abstract is basically a summary of the research you have completed and that you submit through the thesis you have written. So the abstract to the student is what the abstract means to the writer - it's a very brief summary of the full text you wrote.

What kind of information should be included in the summary?

Well, some universities may require you to include specific information in your abstract, so it is important to check with your instructor to make sure you know what information to include in any abstract you write. You can also check the Style Guidelines or any how-to guidelines that were given to you when you started working on your thesis, as they may contain important pieces of information about your Study Abroad Consultants in Calicut.

However, almost all summaries will need to look at the following:

Explain why the main topic/problem/question of your thesis is being investigated
An explanation of the ways you researched your thesis. This may need to cover the literature review process you went through, as well as any quantitative and/or qualitative research methods you may have included.
- Reveal the outline of the results. What was the result of your search? What did you prove? What is not proven?
What are the implications of these results? More importantly, how do you relate to the main topic/problem/question initially posed in your post?
- Any recommendations you would like to make after the result of your post.

Why is an abstract a useful addition to a thesis?

The summary must be able to read independently of the full message. Therefore it is especially useful for individuals who will not read your thesis completely but want to familiarize themselves with the purpose and results of the thesis.
What purpose does the summary serve?

The summary is often the first thing an evaluator reads, and as such it helps the person flagging your work in making the first impression of you, your writing ability, and the correctness and accuracy of your research.

The abstract can also do the following:

Help the reader decide whether or not he wants to read your thesis in full
Serve as an indicator of how well you are doing your research
