Story Drafts will be soon available on Instagram
Instagram will soon work like the Twitter, and you will have new Stories feature in place. Users can now save their unfinished Instagram Stories as drafts. This is almost similar to how drafts work on Twitter. Therefore, if you wish to come back to draft stories, and finish them later; you are allowed to do that soon. Recently, Instagram made this announcement on their official Twitter handle. Although, the popular channel didn’t reveal much information about its release.
The figurehead of Instagram, asserted that the new feature will be soon available. He also acknowledged the fact that this has been usually the most requested features by Instagram users. Currently, the details are unknown, because the drafts feature is still under development, while the screenshots of the working of this feature is available online.
The leaked screenshots suggest that when you abandon an unfinished story, a small window pops up on the screen asking you to either save Stories as drafts or discard them and begin with a fresh story. And while you discard a story, Instagram will send a message telling all your previous edits will be removed and you won’t be able to recover them.
Just by tapping on the ‘Save Draft’ option, this feature will save your story edits in the Instagram’s drafts section. This won’t go live and would remain there. Later on, you can easily access such stories. You will also get a ‘Cancel’ option, which will get rid of the dialog box allowing users to go back to story creation. And in case, if someone inadvertently presses the back button while working on a story, this feature will serve as the backup, and the content won’t get deleted. Currently, it’s unknown whether there will be any limit to save story drafts on the Instagram.
Stories drafts has always been a much sought after feature on the Instagram, and the option will undoubtedly provide more flexibility in utilizing Stories. Moreover, it will be also a very beneficial feature for brands that are looking to post their updates at the most preferred times for their audiences. In fact, a brand new social channel called Connectd India that is almost similar to Instagram has already introduced this feature on their app.
After the news broke out in the media, app developer Alessandro shared the images of how the Stories drafts process will look like on the screen. Actually, if you look carefully, you will know that the Stories drafts format is fairly straight-forward, therefore, it will be comparatively easier for you to create Stories in your free time, and subsequently post them whenever you're ready.
It’s true that you can also save your Stories by either downloading them to your device, or by using some third-party apps. But such features are not compatible to Intagram, and are usually not as convenient within your creation flow. But once you get your drafts within the app, you will be able to see them in the same way as they appear to users. At the same time, you will also be able to utilize Instagram's full feature in your draft creation process, and can save your feed posts as drafts within the app.
Instagram has been constantly warning users to be wary of scammers who may have been trying to steal information from Instagram users through fake notifications regarding copyright infringement issues.
