On Monday, actress Ankita Lokhande recounted her experience with the casting couch in the Bollywood film industry. She is the former partner of the lead actor Sushant Singh Rajput and was the star of Ekta Kapoor’s hit TV show Pavitra Rishta.

Ankita has been one of the most famous and highest-paid TV actors before she tried out for movies.

In an interview with Bollywood bubble, the ‘Pavitra Rishta’ fame actress said that she found predatory men twice during her career. Ankita Lokhande reported that her first experience with the ‘casting couch’ was when she young, in her late teens. She was called for a test in a South Indian film. She was invited to ‘compromise’ and sleep with the producer’ to bag a role in the film.

The actress emphasized, “I feel I am a very strong character. I don’t let anybody look at me also like this. I’m like ‘Don’t you dare to do that.’ Yes, I have encountered it once, no, I think I have faced it twice.” Ankita Lokhande remembered being ‘naive’ and asking “Which type of compromise does your producer want? Do I have to go to people or banquets?”

On realizing that the offer was to sleep with the producer, she told the person, “I think your producer wants a girl to dream with, not a very talented girl to work with.” The man apologized and said that he would try to sell her the role in the movie. However, a miffed Ankita Lokhande clarified, “Even if you try calling me now, I’m not interested in your film.” Following that, she left the place.

Her second meeting with the casting couch took country after she had already become a famous actress in the TV show ‘Pavitra Rishta.’ She said, “When I got back again into movies, I felt it again, just shaking hands with that character. I don’t want to take names, he was a big factor.” Lokhande added, “I got these vibes, and I quickly got my hands continuously from him. I knew it, ab mera yaha nahi hoga (it will not serve out for me), because it is a give and takes thing. I read and I left from there because it was not for me.”

MUMBAI (IANS) — Actress Surveen Chawla has started up about the casting couch. She said there was a time when the director wanted to see how her hole looked, and another one was taken in her thighs.

The actress started her showbiz look with the TV show 'Kahiin to Hoga' and went on to act in more small-screen projects. She also starred in Telugu, Kannada,, and Tamil films apart from Bollywood movies.

The 'Hate Story 2' actor had to withstand the casting couch five times: thrice in South film-dom and double in Bollywood.

"A director wanted to see how my break looked. Another director wanted to see how my thighs seemed," Surveen said in an interview with Pinkvilla.

She also reported that there was a time when she was asked overweight. "I went to give this trial and the person told me, 'You are overweight.’ I was just 56 kilos and I thought the character needed glasses," she quipped. "I went to give this trial and the soul told me, 'You are overweight.’ I was just 56 kilos and I created the character required glasses," she quipped.

Her expertise in TV didn't make it simple for her.

"Yes, there was a time when somebody told me you are overexposed because of television. For some time, I tried to hide it from farmers and tell them I did TV only for a year, but I understood later that 'Why am I making this?' Isn't it going to be more suitable for a team to get someone who now knows how to do their lines?"
